Invisible Cities: OGR

  1. Hi SJ.

Fedora is a city of grand ideas and missed opportunities.

The majority of the city is grey and faceless, whilst all of the plans are stored in a museum. There is a sadness to this, but also hope that these "what ifs" may one day come to fruition.

The hero building is clear in this city and the narrative directs you to it.

I think you need to ascertain a composition that will show of the museum at the centre of this grey city.

Don't forget that cities have topology, the ground rises and falls, look at the way that Monmartre and the Basilica Sacre Couer in particular overlooks Paris.

Or Christ the Redeemer looks down on Rio de Janeiro

you can use the lie of the land to focus the eye, accentuate elements and maintain interest.

In terms of building design language you need to think of 2 differing styles to juxtapose between the museum and the main mass of the city.

Do some research around the subjects of mid 20th century architecture, maybe art nouveau or neo modernist architecture. and whip up some more Thumbnails using what you discover.
